What’s the fun in having an online media desktop if you are not able to share your media files with your existing friends?
We understand that your friends are spread across various social networks or on your multiple Web mails, and of course you cannot invite them manually one by one!
Well, this is now an old story. The Wixi Team has been working hard on a new invitation tool which we are now proud to announce: http://www.wixi.com/invitations/
We have lifted all restrictions: you can now invite as many friends as you want, it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1) Enter your login details
2) Select the friends you want to invite (you can select them all in a click), and see which ones are already on Wixi
3) Send your invitations!
We have been working on supporting a wide range of social networks and Web mails among the most popular, including:
GMail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, LinkedIn, Orkut …
Of course, your privacy being our first concern, we insist on the fact that none of your login details are being stored on our servers. Your contact list is used solely to invite your friends to create a Wixi account, but we do not keep their emails to send unsolicited mail.

Big announcement today: we are officially launching Wixi for iPhone, a mobile platform that will allow users to access and stream their Wixi media files through their iPhone’s Safari Web browser!
Our philosophy being Access your media anywhere, play it everywhere!, expanding our online desktop to a mobile platform was the next logical step for Wixi!
Wixi iPhone will offer a streamlined version of the full platform for mobile viewing. Users can:
- Access their Wixi desktop pages or those of their friends through user-specific URLS, and click through to their friends’ desktops to browse their files: http://iphone.wixi.com/username (replace last part with your username on Wixi)
- Stream all media content, they are converted automatically to Iphone formats
- Browse the Wixi iPhone portal to see what new content has been uploaded by the Wixi community
- Search for content and play it directly on your iPhone
Our development efforts have been influenced a lot by our Beta testers. We have a community that is very active in our forums and who is providing our development team with excellent feedback. It has helped us continue to develop an outstanding product, and we are sure it will also guide expanded offerings for the mobile platform.

We are very excited to announce that Wixi has been selected among the 30 finalists – from more than 120 applications – to the Le Web 3 Start-Up competition, taking place in Paris on December 11 – 12.
Wixi will be presenting on stage December 11 at 3 pm. Our team will be given 7 minutes to convince a panel of five judges – composed of investors, media, industry pundits and successful serial entrepreneurs – that Wixi’s service and technology is the best of the best!
